Indonesian Planned Parenthood Association

In 1957 the Indonesian Planned Parenthood Association (IPPA) was established with the aim of realizing responsible parenthood believing that family is the main pillar in realizing community welfare. Responsible parenthood is understood and interpreted through the dimensions of birth, education, health, welfare and the future. Values: Respect human dignity, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, people with HIV, people living with disabilities, religion, race, ethnicity, political orientation, social and economic status. Upholding the values of democracy, non-discrimination, gender equality and justice, social justice, personal autonomy, freedom of thought, opinion, expression and association. Upholding and mainstreaming sexual and reproductive health rights in all situations and opportunities. Stick to volunteerism, pioneering work, professionalism, trustworthiness, transparency, independence, sustainability and justice. Vision: Responsible and inclusive Indonesian family and society. Mission: Empowering the community to create a responsible family. Building an inclusive youth movement. Providing comprehensive, professional and inclusive sexual and reproductive health services. Influencing and empowering policy makers to respect, protect, and fulfil SRHR. Develop a professional organization to achieve independence and sustainability.

The Japan Family Planning Association (JFPA) is an incorporated association established in 1954.   JFPA believes in the life-cycle approach when addressing and delivering sexual and reproductive health services that includes family planning and maternal and child health services. JFPA works in the field of modern contraceptive methods, adolescent health, health promotion and comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), maternal and child health, infertility counselling, sexual health of middle-aged women, treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), prevention of COVID-19, cervical cancer, sexual violence and child abuse.  JFPA also advocates for women’s and adolescents, health issues and engages with lawmakers in Japan.   JFPA works with the national and local governments and strives to achieve a society where everyone in the country can have access to voluntary reproductive health services. Our activities include:   Printing/Issuing of an original publication “Kazoku to Kenko" (which means family and health in English) and holding various seminars and workshops for educational and public relations purposes.   Providing services and information on adolescent health, contraception, infertility, sexuality education, prevention of COVID-19, cervical cancer and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and heredity through clinic-based counselling.  Developing and distributing educational material and equipment which promotes reproductive health.

KoPHWA’s works of developing and distributing high-quality materials have consistently contributed to creating a family-friendly childbirth and childcare environment as well as promoting exemplary sexual and reproductive health practices.

New Zealand Family Planning

Family Planning New Zealand runs 30 permanent clinics which offer a range of sexual and reproductive health services, including contraceptive advice and prescriptions, insertion of contraceptive implants and intra uterine devices, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, pregnancy testing and advice, and cervical screening. Family Planning New Zealand provides early medical abortion at two of its clinics. An increasing number of services are offered via phone consultation and some, like our self-test STI service clients don’t need to see a clinician at all. We also provide clinical training and development courses for doctors, nurses, midwives and other health professionals.     We also run schools-based clinics, predominantly in high needs areas, and its health promoters operate out of 15 locations across the country. The health promoters work with schools, parents, and caregivers to lead courses on sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Since sexuality education became a compulsory component of the health curriculum in New Zealand schools in 2001, Family Planning has developed a range of curriculum aligned teaching resources and courses to support teachers and school staff to deliver effective SRH lessons.    Family Planning was awarded a government contract to provide the website, free phone number and nursing support for a national abortion telehealth service. Phase one of the service went live at the end of April 2022.    The organisation plays a key role in advocating at national and international level for legislative change to promote the right to control SRH as a fundamental human right. It is the secretariat for the New Zealand Parliamentarians Group on Population and Development, where the organisation’s expertise in delivering services to answer people’s SRH needs provides a practical grounding for policy improvements.

New Zealand Family Planning

Family Planning New Zealand runs 30 permanent clinics which offer a range of sexual and reproductive health services, including contraceptive advice and prescriptions, insertion of contraceptive implants and intra uterine devices, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, pregnancy testing and advice, and cervical screening. Family Planning New Zealand provides early medical abortion at two of its clinics. An increasing number of services are offered via phone consultation and some, like our self-test STI service clients don’t need to see a clinician at all. We also provide clinical training and development courses for doctors, nurses, midwives and other health professionals.     We also run schools-based clinics, predominantly in high needs areas, and its health promoters operate out of 15 locations across the country. The health promoters work with schools, parents, and caregivers to lead courses on sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Since sexuality education became a compulsory component of the health curriculum in New Zealand schools in 2001, Family Planning has developed a range of curriculum aligned teaching resources and courses to support teachers and school staff to deliver effective SRH lessons.    Family Planning was awarded a government contract to provide the website, free phone number and nursing support for a national abortion telehealth service. Phase one of the service went live at the end of April 2022.    The organisation plays a key role in advocating at national and international level for legislative change to promote the right to control SRH as a fundamental human right.
